I just wanted to create a page with a mix of some random photos, and Morocco videos of a few places we had been.
Most of the videos are from the early 2000’s, these areas have now been upgraded quite a bit since we were there.
I just thought it would give a greater perspective to actually see live action of the places we had been.
There are a few videos I want to draw particular attention to, Tiznit from 1982, and Taroudant from 1984.
These two videos are a bit grainy, but the towns look just like they did when we were there.

Don’t know what the proper name for this plant is; to me it is just a thistle and thorn.

This is the Marrakesh marketplace at night when everyone comes out for
dinner. Thousands of people are fed here every evening. The food is very good, fresh daily and quite cheap. [4:30 minutes]

Tiznit, about 80 Km south of Agadir. In 1975 almost 100% of the city was
behind the defensive wall. Over the years the city has developed well beyond the walls. This was shot in 2014. [12:18 minutes]

Tiznit, 1982. This is very much how the town looked when we were there.
A grainy VHS video [5:38 minutes]
https://youtu.be/E8aBsvaqSoU
This is the exact beach where we were in 1975. In this video the caves are
shown from GoPro helmet cameras on para-gliders.
The caves have been very upgraded and fully integrated into the tourist trade; they now appear quite livable.
It’s all changed so much since we were there.
Compare the caves here to the photos on page 11 {Morocco Story}.

Beachfront in Rabat, not many swimmers about. Maybe that’s them in the graveyard in the next picture
This could be the swimmer’s graveyard in Rabat; not a good sign.
There seemed to be a disproportionate number of graveyards in this region.

White water rafting in the Ottawa River, Owl Rafting or Wilderness Tours, not sure. Forester Falls, Ont. The early nineties.

A 1984 video of Taroudant, almost the entire city is within the walls.
Although this was filmed 9 years after we were there, much of what I see here is just like I remember how it was in 1975. But again, a grainy VHS video.

This is a very cool 5 minute cruise on this trail.

Travelling north from Taroudant to Marrakesh through Tizi-n-Test Pass,

when you’re looking over the edge. This is one of the best High Atlas valley
